10. May 2019 – On Saturday, May 18, starting at 11 am, we will mark the International Day of the Museum in our Center. The theme of this year’s International Day of the Museum is “Museums as Cultural Centers: the Future of Tradition”.
One of the tradition of island of Prvić is the construction of a drystone. How much tradition of drystone heritage is really important for island of Prvić will reveal to us in his lecture Jadran Kale, curator of the Šibenik City Museum, docent of the University of Zadar and one of the most prominent ‘caretaker’ of the Dalmatian drystone heritage.
In the lecture titled “The Best Heritage of the Adriatic: Drystones of Lučani” our guest lecturer, ethnologist and islander Jadran Kale will explain to us why the first bunjas and piles are of special importance on the Adriatic map. We will also discuss guidelines for the future, with a special emphasis on ownership, protection and adequate presentation of them.
Looking forward to see you there!
